Pubnet LLC Announces Bookstore-friendly Price Reduction Effective Immediately
Vienna, VA, June 30, 1998 -- Pubnet LLC, the developer of the pioneering electronic commerce
system that links booksellers, publishers and suppliers, today announced that it will defer
fee-based pricing for an additional 9 months. Managing Director Andrew Gregory said that this
action would allow additional time for all Pubnet suppliers and supporting systems developers to
fully implement all of the features of the new system, and thus provide subscribers additional
time to experience these benefits.
"We knew that the system would add more utility as all suppliers and developers completed their
component integration. Our original time line did not allow sufficient time for all members of
the community to complete this work, and therefore needed adjustment."
This change means that all Pubnet LLC customers can upgrade to Pubnet 2000TM, incur no monthly
fees until July 1999, and still benefit from Pubnet 2000's fast, Internet-based ordering features.
The monthly pricing change does not effect fees associated with new member sign-up or
subscription to Books in Print®.
