Sr. VP-CIO of Family Christian Stores to Discuss the “Dollars and Sense” of EDI
New Providence, N.J. – May 22, 2003 - Pubnet®, a leading publishing industry e-commerce exchange, is pleased to announce that Jef Fite, Senior VP-CIO of Family Christian Stores (FCS), will be the Keynote Speaker at the Pubnet User Group Meeting to be held October 2-3, 2003 at the Boston Peabody Marriott, Peabody, MA.
Mr. Fite is responsible for all of the technology management, systems development and support for all of the company’s operations. Mr. Fite also has leadership responsibility for the FCS Internet (www.FamilyChristian.com) and catalog fulfillment channels. Family Christian Stores is America’s leading specialty retailer dedicated solely to the Christian lifestyle market with over 325 locations and over 5,000 employees in 39 states.
Mr. Fite’s previous positions within the FCS organization included serving as President of iBelieve.com, a sister Internet company. Prior to joining iBelieve.com, Mr. Fite served as Special Assistant to the President at FCS starting in August, 1996. His responsibilities involved management of special projects including implementation of the FCS Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) program. Prior to joining FCS, Mr. Fite worked at Andersen Consulting, now Accenture, in the Dallas and Detroit City offices since February 1988.Notable client work included technology development and business process design projects for Ford Motor Company, The Manville Corporation, Caterpillar Logistics, Steelcase, Meijer, Quality Stores, and FCS. He received the Accenture Enterprise Award for the innovative structure of the FCS outsourcing arrangement.
Mr. Fite’s topic will be the “Dollars and Sense of EDI.” His discussion will focus on delivering tangible economic value to a retail business through the use of EDI. He will provide insights based on specific EDI activities at FCS, as well as operational and financial benefits he has seen other retailers achieve.
